With The New Saints and Barry Town United competing in the final of the Nathaniel MG Cup on Saturday afternoon, only four league matches will be played this weekend.
After six consecutive victories, The New Saints are 15 points clear at the top of the JD Cymru Premier, and the Oswestry giants outfit secure the championship away from home against Connah’s Quay Nomads on Tuesday night.
Down in the Bottom Six, and after winning four matches in a row, Haverfordwest County have opened up a four-point gap in the battle to finish 7th and reach the play-off matches.
Following their defeat against Haverfordwest County last Friday, Llanelli Town are certain to be relegated at the end of the season, and Bala Town are also in danger, as they start the weekend five points below the safety of 10th place.
TOP SIX
Caernarfon Town (5th) v Colwyn Bay (4th) | Friday – 19:45
In the only match between two Top Six sides, Caernarfon Town will welcome Colwyn Bay to Parc Maesdu, with just one point separating the two clubs.
Colwyn Bay will be determined to get revenge on Caernarfon after the Cofis beat the Seagulls 4–1 in the quarter-finals of the Welsh Cup last month.
Caernarfon Town’s priority will be to ensure nobody gets injured on Friday ahead of the crucial tie against Y Rhyl 1879 in the Welsh Cup semi-final next weekend.
However, Richard Davies will be keen to secure a win to lift his squad’s spirits, as the Canaries have won only one of their last 11 league matches (D6, L4).
Colwyn Bay have held their own firmly in the Top Six, losing just once in their four league games since the split — that defeat coming against The New Saints.
This will be the fifth meeting between the two clubs this season, and the head-to-head record is currently level, with Caernarfon Town winning twice and Colwyn Bay also winning twice.

BOTTOM SIX
Cardiff Met (9th) v Briton Ferry Llansawel (8th) | Friday – 19:45
Just one point separates Cardiff Met and Briton Ferry Llansawel in the middle of the Bottom Six, and both sides need a win if they are to keep the pressure on Haverfordwest County in the race for 7th place.
Since beating The New Saints twice in November, Cardiff Met have won only once (vs Llanelli), and the club are now on a run of nine matches without a victory (D6, L3).
Briton Ferry Llansawel, on the other hand, will be full of confidence, having lost just one of their last seven matches (W4, D2).
After beating Bala Town last weekend and opening up an eight-point gap over the relegation places, Andy Dyer’s side will be looking upward and aiming to close the four-point gap to Haverfordwest County.
Thomas Walters is enjoying a strong season for Llansawel, and among the Bottom Six clubs no player has contributed to more goals than the Reds’ forward (nine goals and eight assists).
Former Briton Ferry forward Jasper Payne is Cardiff Met’s top scorer this season with six league goals, two of which came against his former club earlier in the campaign in two draws.

Bala Town (11th) v Llanelli Town (12th) | Friday – 19:45
Llanelli Town’s fate was sealed last Friday when the Reds lost 1–0 against Haverfordwest County, confirming their relegation back to the second tier.
With just two wins from 26 league matches and only nine points on the board, it has been a disappointing season for Llanelli Town.
Across all men’s top divisions in Europe, Llanelli Town are only the third team to have their relegation confirmed this season, with the only other two clubs having been expelled from their leagues for administrative reasons — Domžale (Slovenia) and Pasa de la Casa (Andorra).
Bala Town will be determined to avoid the same fate as Llanelli, with Steve Fisher’s side sitting in the relegation zone, five points below the safety of 10th spot.
Bala Town have been members of the top-flight for 16 years, but the Lakesiders are in real danger of dropping down after winning just one of their last 11 matches.
Bala Town have won their last six matches against Llanelli Town, but both meetings earlier this season ended 1–0, so it will not be an easy game for the Gwynedd gang.

Haverfordwest County (7th) v Flint Town United (10th) | Sunday – 14:30
On Sunday afternoon, Haverfordwest County will be hoping to continue their perfect record since the split, while Flint Town United will be eager to extend the gap between themselves and Bala Town in 11th place.
Having lost just one of their last nine matches, Haverfordwest County have opened up a four-point lead in 7th place (W6, D2).
The Bluebirds have kept six clean sheets in their last seven games as Tony Pennock’s side eye a place in the play-offs.
Flint Town United are on a five-match unbeaten run in all competitions, and Lee Fowler’s team will face Bangor 1876 from the third tier in the Welsh Cup semi-final next weekend, with the Silkmen dreaming of lifting the trophy for the first time since 1954.
Haverfordwest County have lost just one of their last eight meetings with Flint Town United, and Dan Hawkins scored in both fixtures earlier this season (Hav 3–1 FTU, FTU 2–2 Hav).
