Four rounds of matches remain in the JD Cymru Premier season, and the battle for the play-off places is heating up.
The New Saints have secured their fifth consecutive league title, while Connah’s Quay Nomads have clinched second place – meaning both clubs will represent Wales in European competition this summer.
Next month, Caernarfon Town and Flint Town United will compete for the third European place in the final of the Welsh Cup, while the fourth European spot will go to the winners of the league play-offs.
Down in the Bottom Six, just one point separates Haverfordwest County and Briton Ferry Llansawel in the race for 7th place, while Bala Town need a victory if they are to try to climb out of the relegation zone.
TOP SIX
The New Saints (1st) v Colwyn Bay (3rd) | Friday – 19:45
The New Saints have secured the JD Cymru Premier title for the 18th time in their history, and for the fifth season in a row.
However, despite their success in the league, this season could still be viewed as a disappointing one for the Saints, as only one trophy will be heading to Oswestry — having achieved at least a domestic double in 10 of their previous 12 seasons.
Even so, Craig Harrison’s side have won eight consecutive league matches and are determined to finish the season strongly.
Colwyn Bay have climbed into third place after an impressive victory over Barry Town United, with former TNS player Aeron Edwards starring in midfield.
Colwyn Bay have never beaten The New Saints, and the league’s top scorer Jordan Williams has scored in all three previous meetings against the Seagulls this season.

Barry Town United (6th) v Caernarfon Town (5th) | Saturday – 14:30
Barry Town United and Caernarfon Town are level on points at the bottom of the Top Six, with identical records (10 wins, 9 draws, 9 defeats).
The head-to-head record between the two clubs has also been even this season, with Caernarfon Town winning once, Barry Town United winning once, and the other match ending in a draw.
Third place is the target for both teams, but after winning just one of their seven league matches in 2026, the Cofis will need to raise their game.
Barry Town United had won four games in a row — without conceding a goal — before their defeat at Colwyn Bay last Saturday.
The Linnets will be hoping to win the play-offs to qualify for to European competition for the first time in six years, whole Caernarfon Town are keen to avoid the play-offs by winning the Welsh Cup.

Connah’s Quay (2nd) v Pen-y-bont (3rd) | Saturday – 14:30
In John Disney’s first season in charge, Connah’s Quay Nomads have secured second place, confirming their place in European competition next season.
The Nomads have been regulars on the European stage over the past decade, but after a year away following an 8th-place finish last season, Connah’s Quay supporters will be preparing for another European adventure this summer.
Connah’s Quay have therefore strengthened considerably, while Pen-y-bont are heading in the opposite direction, with the Blues having won just one of their last 12 matches (vs Llanelli Town).
Pen-y-bont have not beaten a Top Six club since September (vs Colwyn Bay), and after losing to The New Saints last Saturday, Rhys Griffiths’ side dropped out of the top three for the first time since August.
Connah’s Quay have kept three clean sheets against Pen-y-bont this season, winning both meetings earlier in the campaign before a goalless draw at Dragonbet Stadium last month.

BOTTOM SIX
Llanelli Town (12th) v Cardiff Met (10th) | Friday – 19:45
With just two wins in 28 league matches and only 10 points on the board, it has been an extremely disappointing campaign for Llanelli Town, who are already certain to be relegated at the end of the season.
Cardiff Met are in a dangerous position, only five points above the relegation zone after a miserable run of 11 matches without a win (six draws, five defeats).
Since beating The New Saints twice in November, Cardiff Met have won just once in 13 matches (vs Llanelli Town).
Cardiff Met had won six consecutive matches against Llanelli Town before the most recent meeting between the sides in February, which finished 1–1 at Cyncoed Campus.

Briton Ferry Llansawel (8th) v Flint Town United (9th) | Saturday – 14:30
Briton Ferry Llansawel will be full of confidence after losing just one of their last nine games (six wins, two draws), with Andy Dyer’s side now only a point behind Haverfordwest County in the race for 7th place.
Thomas Walters is enjoying an excellent season for Llansawel, and among the Bottom Six clubs no player has contributed to more goals than the Reds’ forward (11 goals, 9 assists).
Flint Town United and The New Saints are the only two clubs yet to lose a league match since the split, and Lee Fowler’s side have opened up a seven-point gap between themselves and Bala Town in the relegation places.
Flint Town United are still aiming for 7th place, but the Silkmen’s main target will be trying to beat Caernarfon Town in the Welsh Cup final to secure their place in European competition for the first time ever.
Flint Town United have a strong record against Briton Ferry Llansawel, with the Silkmen unbeaten in their seven meetings with the Reds (four wins, three draws).

Bala Town (11th) v Haverfordwest County (7th) | Saturday – 17:00 (Live online)
Bala Town have been members of the top flight for 16 years, and of the current clubs only The New Saints have also remained in the league continuously since Bala’s first season in 2009/10.
However, after 12 years in the Top Six, Bala have missed out this season and the club is in danger of dropping into the second tier after winning just two of their last 19 league matches.
Steve Fisher’s side have managed only one victory since November, and another defeat on Saturday would leave the Lakesiders in a desperate situation.
Haverfordwest County continue to lead the pack in the Bottom Six after winning five of their six league matches since the split.
The Bluebirds have kept seven clean sheets in their last nine outings, and after winning the playoffs last season, Tony Pennock’s side will be aiming to repeat that achievement this year.
Haverfordwest County have already beaten Bala three times this season, and Pennock’s team are unbeaten in their last seven meetings with the Lakesiders, keeping six clean sheets in those matches.
Corey Shephard has scored three goals in three games for the Bluebirds against Bala this season, including a remarkable strike from the halfway line at Maes Tegid in December.
