The new Wales manager, Craig Bellamy signed a 4-year contract as the new manager of Wales in July 2024 following the dismissal of Robert Page after disappointing results against Gibraltar (0-0) and Slovakia (4-0) in friendly matches.
The game against Turkey in the UEFA Nations League 2024/25 will be his first game in charge of the national team after a spell as assistant manager with Burnley (2022-24) and Anderlecht (2021).
In his playing days Bellamy won 78 caps for Wales.
Wales will begin their 2024/25 UEFA Nations League campaign with a home game at Cardiff City Stadium against Turkey on Friday night (6/9), before traveling to face Montenegro on Monday night (9/9).
The UEFA Nations League format has been favourable to Wales since its inception in 2018, with the national team gaining promotion from League B to League A in 2020 and reaching the play-offs for a place at Euro 2024 due to their success in the competition.
