The New Saints are leading the way in the Cymru Premier after the opening 13 games, with the champions six points clear at the top of the table following 12 consecutive victories.

Connah’s Quay are keeping the pressure on the Oswestry outfit, with the Nomads winning five consecutive league games to climb into second place.

Friday’s clash between Trefelin and Flint Town United will be crucial, with both sides eager to climb out of the relegation places.

In mid-table, Cambrian United will welcome Airbus UK as both clubs look to push for a Top Six spot.

Colwyn Bay (5th) v Cardiff Met (7th) v | Friday – 19:45

Colwyn Bay and Cardiff Met have both progressed to the third round of the Welsh Cup following victories against lower-league clubs last weekend.

Cardiff Met secured a comfortable 4-0 win against Ynyshir, but it was far from a straightforward affair for Colwyn Bay at Buckley.

The Seagulls were indebted to experienced goalkeeper Mark Halstead who scored a dramatic late equaliser for Michael Wilde’s side in the final minute (Buck 2-2 Bay), before saving two penalties to win the shoot-out for Colwyn Bay.

Colwyn Bay narrowly avoided a slip-up, and attention now turns back to the league, where their recent form has been excellent, with the Seagulls winning five of their last six league games.

Colwyn Bay boast a perfect home record this season, having won all six of their matches at Llanelian Road while conceding just three goals.

However, no team has conceded fewer goals away from home than Cardiff Met, with the Archers shipping just three goals in their six away matches so far.

The last meeting between the clubs ended goalless, and Colwyn Bay have never lost at home to Cardiff Met (W1, D2).

Caernarfon Town (4th) v Briton Ferry Llansawel (11th) | Friday – 19:45

Having beaten Flint Town United in the 2025/26 Welsh Cup final, Caernarfon Town have progressed to the third round of this season’s competition following another victory over the Silkmen (FTU 1-3 Cfon).

Briton Ferry Llansawel have also reached the next round after thrashing Afan United 5-0, with veteran Luke Bowen scoring a hat-trick for the Reds.

However, they face a tougher challenge in the third round, travelling away to face the favourites, The New Saints.

In the league, red cards have been a prominent feature of Caernarfon Town’s recent matches, with seven dismissals in their last six games, six of which have been shown to the Cofis’ opponents.

Despite this, the Canaries have won just two of their last five league matches, failing to beat Llandudno, Cardiff Met or Barry Town United.

Briton Ferry Llansawel captain Alex Gammond has the worst disciplinary record in the league so far, with one red card and four yellow cards, while the Old Road outfit have seen two red cards in their last three league games.

Having won just one of their last nine league matches, points have been hard to come by for Llansawel, and Andy Dyer’s side have also failed to win any of their four meetings with Caernarfon Town since their promotion in 2024.

Cambrian United (9th) v Airbus UK (8th) | Friday – 19:45

Cambrian United will host Bangor 1876 in the third round of the Welsh Cup after comfortably beating Trethomas last weekend (Cam 5-0 Tre).

It was not to be for Airbus, however, despite pushing The New Saints all the way, it was heartbreak for the Broughton bunch as they conceded in the final minute (Air 1-2 TNS).

Cambrian United have lost three of their last four league games and have received four red cards during that period, giving them the worst disciplinary record in the league.

Cambrian suffered a 9-1 defeat at Caernarfon last month before losing 9-0 against TNS, and as a result, only Holywell Town (44) have conceded more goals than the Rhondda side (33) this season.

Airbus are the only team yet to draw a match this season, and after winning three of their last four league games, Mark Allen’s side are targeting a place in the Top Six.

There are three points separating the two clubs in mid-table during their first season following their summer promotions, and this will be the first-ever meeting between the sides.

Trefelin (15th) v Flint Town United (14th) | Friday – 19:45

It has been a productive fortnight for Trefelin, as they claimed their first-ever top-flight victory against Cardiff Met before beating Llantwit Major Fawr to reach the third round of the Welsh Cup.

The next challenge for Andy Hill’s side is to secure their first home win in the Cymru Premier, against Flint Town United, who have won just one of their seven away matches this season.

Trefelin have scored just two goals in six home league games this season, collecting only one point from a possible 18.

Danny Holmes won his first two matches as Flint Town United manager, but the Silkmen have since suffered back-to-back defeats, including a 1-3 loss against Caernarfon Town in the Welsh Cup last Saturday.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the two clubs, and with just two points separating them, it is a crucial encounter in the battle to avoid relegation.

Holywell Town (16th) v Pen-y-bont (3rd) | Friday – 19:45

After a disastrous start to life in the top flight, Holywell Town came close to further embarrassment over the weekend, drawing with Llay Welfare, who sit 11th in the Ardal North West League (3rd tier).

However, the Cymru Premier side prevailed on penalties, setting up a third-round tie against the holders, Caernarfon Town.

Holywell Town have endured a terrible start to the season, collecting just two points from their opening 13 matches while conceding 44 goals (3.4 per game).

Pen-y-bont have progressed to the third round of the cup after beating Afan Lido, securing their seventh victory in their last eight matches.

The clubs last met in the quarter-finals of the 2022/23 Welsh Cup, when Pen-y-bont won 2-1 thanks to a late Nathan Wood penalty.

The New Saints (1st) v Ammanford (13th) | Friday – 19:45

The New Saints won 2-1 away at Airbus last weekend to make it 13 consecutive victories in all competitions.

The champions are six points clear at the top of the table and appear to be cruising towards their sixth consecutive league title.

Saints goalkeeper Nathan Shepperd has kept seven clean sheets in 13 league matches, conceding just six goals so far.

Ammanford have also secured a place in the third round of the Welsh Cup after beating Cwmaman, and Wyn Thomas’s side are enjoying their best spell of the season after winning their last three matches.

The Saints have scored 25 goals in their last five league games (5 goals per match), so the Oswestry forwards will be relishing the prospect of this first-ever meeting between the two clubs.

Connah’s Quay (2nd) v Llandudno (10th) | Saturday – 12:30

Connah’s Quay and Llandudno have secured their places in the third round of the Welsh Cup after beating lower-league opposition last weekend.

It was a comfortable 4-0 home victory for Connah’s Quay against Porthmadog, but the tie between Llandudno and Llannefydd was much closer, with Mark Cadwallader scoring the only goal of the game for the top-flight side.

Connah’s Quay have now won six consecutive matches to climb into second place, and John Disney will be keen to keep the pressure on the champions.

Llandudno have lost their last four league matches, collecting just one point from their last six Cymru Premier outings.

The clubs met in the third round of last season’s Welsh Cup, when Llandudno caused a major upset by winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Ben Maher and Ross Weaver.

Barry Town United (6th) Haverfordwest County (12th) v | Saturday – 17:15 (Live online)

Barry Town United and Haverfordwest County have both safely progressed to the next round of the cup after beating lower-tier opposition in the second round.

Barry Town defeated Tredegar 2-0, while Haverfordwest cruised past Cardiff Draconians with a 4-0 victory.

However, things have not been going quite so well in the league, with Barry winning just one of their last three matches and Haverfordwest County suffering four consecutive defeats.

No team has scored fewer goals than Haverfordwest County this season, with just eight goals in 13 matches, only one of which has come away from home.

And with just one victory in their last five league games, Barry Town are in danger of slipping out of the Top Six.

Barry Town United had gone five matches unbeaten against Haverfordwest County before the Bluebirds defeated the Dragons on penalties in the European play-off semi-final at Jenner Park in April.
