Aberystwyth Town will become the first club to reach 1,000 JD Cymru Premier games when they host Haverfordwest County on Tuesday night, while Cefn Druids make the tough trip to Park Hall to face league leaders The New Saints.
Tuesday, 1 February
The New Saints (1st) v Cefn Druids (12th) | Tuesday – 19:45
Two teams on opposite ends of the table with two contrasting stories go head-to-head on Tuesday, and if recent results are an indication of what’s to come, it could be a very long night for Cefn Druids.
The Druids lost 5-0 at Aberystwyth Town on Friday night, while The New Saints won 4-0 at Caernarfon Town.
Cefn Druids are 16 points behind the rest of the pack following a run of 28 league games without a win and have only picked up two points this season.
The New Saints, on the other hand, are 16 points clear at the summit after six consecutive victories, and it seems it’s just a matter of time before the Oswestry outfit get to lift the league trophy for the first time in three years.
The Saints have won each of their last seven games against the Druids and are unbeaten in 22 meetings with the Ancients (won 20, drawn 2).

Aberystwyth Town (10th) v Haverfordwest County (11th) | Tuesday – 20:00
Cefn Druids are favourites to go down this season, but the big question is who will join them, and as it stands it’s Aberystwyth Town and Haverfordwest County who are in danger.
After hitting five past the Druids on Friday night, Aberystwyth Town have gone two points above Haverfordwest County who drew 2-2 with Pen-y-bont.
Haverfordwest County are on a run of eight games without a win, and with the teams meeting again in 10 days these are real ‘six-pointer’ matches in the battle to avoid relegation.
Aberystwyth Town have won only one of their last five meetings with Haverfordwest County (lost 3, drawn 1), but the Bluebirds haven’t won at Park Avenue in six years.
Entry is free for all spectators on what should be a special night for the Seasiders’ 1,000th JD Cymru Premier game.
