It was an unexpected defeat for Caernarfon Town against Cardiff Met on Sunday afternoon as the Archers beat the Cofis by 3-0 to secure their first away win in the league for over 12 months.
That result means that the Saints remain at the summit, one point above Pen-y-bont who are hot on their heels in second place.
It was a prosperous week for Llanelli Town who had no points on the board after seven games but ended up picking up seven points in just six days.
Haverfordwest County have therefore dropped to the bottom of the table after suffering five successive league defeats for the first time in a decade.

This Friday, Pen-y-bont will have the chance to climb to the top of the JD Cymru Premier table for the first time this season.
Rhys Griffiths’ team have won their last four fixtures, conceding only once to keep within a point of league leaders, The New Saints.
It’s a contrasting tale at Briton Ferry, who are on a run of six league games without a win, and Andy Dyer’s men have not won at home in the league since March.
But the Reds have already beaten Bont once this season, in a penalty shoot-out victory of the third round of the Nathaniel MG Cup after it ended 2-2 in regulation time at the Dragonbet Stadium last month.

After losing their opening seven games in the league this season, it was quite a surprise to see Llanelli Town pick up seven points in six days last week to climb off the bottom of the table.
The revival started with a goalless game against Colwyn Bay, before Lee John’s men secured their first win last Tuesday against Briton Ferry Llansawel and then won again against Haverfordwest County at Stebonheath Park on Friday.
As for Connah’s Quay, John Disney’s side have not shone much this year winning just one of their last six games, against 10-man Haverfordwest County.
But the Nomads have won their previous 10 meetings with Llanelli Town, including a 2-1 victory in last season’s Welsh Cup semi-final, and so Lee John will be looking to inspire his squad to beat Connah’s Quay for the first time in 16 years.

Haverfordwest County (12th) v Flint Town United (8th) | Saturday – 14:30
Haverfordwest County have dropped to the bottom of the table following their worst run in the league for a decade with the Bluebirds losing five consecutive league matches.
Haverfordwest County had the best defensive record in the league in 2024/25, but a lack of discipline in the Bluebirds’ defence has been costly this year after the club lost a large percentage of their influential players over the summer (Lee Jenkins, Luke Tabone, Jacob Owen, Zac Jones)
Despite finishing in 3rd place last season, goals were scarce for Tony Pennock’s side (an average of 1.2 goals per game), and it is a similar story this year as Haverfordwest County have failed to score in five of their nine league games so far.
Flint Town United have risen to 8th place after beating Briton Ferry Llansawel on Saturday afternoon thanks to two goals from Harry Owen, as the captain scored against Andy Dyer’s side for the sixth time in four games.
But the Silkmen have not won any of their last five games away at Bridge Meadow, since winning 3-0 in November 2020.

After failing to win any of their opening nine league games this season, there was finally reason to celebrate for Cardiff Met on Sunday afternoon, as they beat Caernarfon Town by 3-0 at Maesdu Park.
It was the Archers’ first win away from home in the league since winning 2-1 at Aberystwyth over a year ago.
Despite their promising position, goals have been rare for Bala Town who have only netted nine goals in 10 league games.
Cardiff Met have a strong record against Bala Town as Ryan Jenkins’ side have lost just one of the last 11 meetings between the teams (W5, D5).

The New Saints (1st) v Barry Town United (5th) | Saturday – 14:30
Following a 2-0 away win against Bala Town on Friday night, the Saints are now on a 10-game unbeaten run, including six consecutive wins in all competitions.
The Saints’ new goalkeeper, Nathan Shepperd has settled in swiftly in the JD Cymru Premier, keeping six clean sheets in 10 league games to date.
Barry Town United have also defended solidly recently keeping four clean sheets in their last five outings.
The New Saints are unbeaten in 14 games against Barry Town United (W11, D3), but it ended goalless in the corresponding match between the teams at Jenner Park earlier this season.

Colwyn Bay (7th) v Caernarfon Town (3rd) | Saturday – 17:15 (Live online)
After their excellent start to the season, Caernarfon Town have now fallen to third place after losing two of their last three games.
Caernarfon Town are the top scorers in the league, but the Cofis failed to hit the net against Cardiff Met on Sunday, and that for the first time since the goalless game against the students in the semi-final of the play-offs back in May.
Only the top two in the table have a better defensive record than Colwyn Bay this season, as the Seagulls have only conceded nine goals in 10 league games since their promotion.
But Michael Wilde’s team let in three goals against Caernarfon Town in their first game this season, which was the second round of the Nathaniel MG Cup (Cfon 3-0 Bay).
Caernarfon Town have won all three of their previous contests against Colwyn Bay with respectable crowds of over 900 in attendance for all three matches.
