Two rounds of matches remain in the JD Cymru Premier season, and the excitement is building in the Bottom Six.
Bala Town must beat Llanelli Town on Friday afternoon to have any hope of staying in the league, but if Flint Town United defeat Haverfordwest County, then Bala’s fight for survival will be over.
Haverfordwest are three points clear in the race for 7th place, and the Bluebirds could secure their spot in the play-offs if results go their way on Friday afternoon.
The New Saints have secured their fifth consecutive title, while Connah’s Quay Nomads have claimed second place – meaning both clubs will represent Wales in Europe this summer.
Next Sunday, Caernarfon Town and Flint Town United will compete for the third European spot in the final of the Welsh Cup, with the fourth European place going to the winners of the play-offs.
TOP SIX
Colwyn Bay (3rd) v Caernarfon Town (6th) | Friday – 14:30
Colwyn Bay are going from strength to strength and have climbed into 3rd place, and three points for the Seagulls on Friday would be enough to secure a home tie in the play-off semi-final.
Caernarfon Town have slipped to place after winning just one of their nine league matched in 2026, although that victory came in the reverse fixture against Colwyn Bay in February.
The Cofis will compete in the Welsh Cup final for the first time ever on 12 April, and winning the cup would secure European football for next season.
However, after winning just two of their last 15 league matches, the Cofi Army may be feeling slightly cautious ahead of facing Flint Town United in the final.
This will be the sixth meeting between the clubs this season, with Caernarfon Town having had the upper hand so far – beating Michael Wilde’s side in the league, the Nathaniel MG Cup, and the Welsh Cup.

Pen-y-bont (5th) v Barry Town United (4th) | Friday – 14:30
After a strong start to the campaign, Pen-y-bont’s season has fallen apart since November.
The collapse began at Llanelian Road, where the Bluebirds lost 5–4 to Colwyn Bay, and since then Pen-y-bont have managed just one win in 14 matches (vs Llanelli Town).
Pen-y-bont have not beaten a Top Six side since September (vs Colwyn Bay), and Rhys Griffiths’s team have not scored more than once in a game since that 5–4 defeat against the Seagulls in November.
Barry Town United, on the other hand, have been in solid form recently, winning five of their last seven matches and keeping four clean sheets.
It has been an excellent season for the Dragons under Steve Jenkins, with the team reaching the Top Six for the first time in five years and lifting the Nathaniel MG Cup for the first time in 25 years.
The head-to-head record between the two sides has been evenly balanced this season, with Pen-y-bont winning in August, a draw in December, and Barry Town United winning in March.

The New Saints (1st) v Connah’s Quay (2nd) | Friday – 14:30
The New Saints have secured the JD Cymru Premier title for the 18th time in their history and for the fifth consecutive season.
Despite that success, this campaign could still be seen as a disappointing one for the Saints, with only one trophy heading to Oswestry after achieving at least a domestic double in 10 of their previous 12 seasons.
In John Disney’s first season in charge, Connah’s Quay Nomads have secured second spot, confirming their place in European competition next season.
The Nomads have been regulars on the European stage over the past decade, and after a year away following an 8th-place finish last season, their supporters will be preparing for another European adventure this year.
The New Saints have won three of their four meetings with Connah’s Quay this season, including a 2–1 victory at the Essity Stadium last month to clinch the title.
There will be a celebration in Oswestry after Friday’s match, as the Saints will lift the trophy following the final whistle at Park Hall.

Only two goals have been scored across the three meetings between the sides this season, with Bala keeping a clean sheet in all three games (Lli 0–1 Bala, Bala 1–0 Lli, Bala 0–0 Lli).

Briton Ferry Llansawel (8th) v Cardiff Met (9th) | Friday – 14:30
Cardiff Met have won two consecutive league matches for the first time since October, securing their place in the JD Cymru Premier for another season.
Since beating The New Saints twice in November, Cardiff Met have only defeated the bottom two sides in the table — Bala Town and Llanelli Town.
Even so, the Archers are still in the race to reach 7th place, although that now looks unlikely with just two games remaining.
Final fixtures:
Briton Ferry Llansawel: Cardiff Met (h), Bala Town (a)
Cardiff Met: Briton Ferry Llansawel (a), Flint Town United (h)
Briton Ferry will need to respond quickly after the disappointment of losing to Haverfordwest County last weekend, which saw the Reds slip from 7th to 8th place.
Andy Dyer’s side are unbeaten against Met this season (one win, two draws), and Briton Ferry will be eager to secure a victory in their final home game of the campaign.

Flint Town United (10th) v Haverfordwest County (7th) | Friday – 14:30
It promises to be an exciting match at Cae y Castell, with so much at stake for both teams.
A win for Flint Town United would be enough to secure their place in the league for another season — and would send Bala Town down to the second tier.
Haverfordwest County, on the other hand, will be determined to hold onto 7th place, and if results go their way, the Bluebirds could secure their play-off spot on Friday.
Final fixtures:
Flint Town United: Haverfordwest County (h), Cardiff Met (a)
Haverfordwest County: Flint Town United (a), Llanelli Town (h)
Haverfordwest County have kept eight clean sheets in their last 11 matches, and Tony Pennock’s side will be aiming to win the play-offs for the second consecutive season.
Flint, meanwhile, have won just one of their last six league matches — that victory coming away against Haverfordwest County.
The head-to-head record between the sides has been evenly balanced this season: Haverfordwest County won 3–1 in October, they drew 2–2 in December, and Flint Town United won 3–1 in March.
