After competing in the semi-finals of the Nathaniel MG Cup over the weekend, The New Saints and Barry Town United will play their league fixtures on Tuesday night.
Tuesday, 9 December
Briton Ferry Llansawel (10th) v The New Saints (1st) | Tuesday – 19:45
The New Saints have reached the final of the Nathaniel MG Cup for the third consecutive season, and for the 13th time in their history.
But it certainly wasn’t easy for the holders in the semi-final against Llandudno from the second tier on Saturday afternoon, with only one goal separating the teams at the final whistle (TNS 2-1 Lldo).
The New Saints are 10 points clear at the top of the JD Cymru Premier table and are aiming to secure a domestic double for the fifth consecutive year.
Jordan Williams is the Saints’ top scorer this year, and with 17 league goals already, Williams has already netted more than the Golden Boot winners did last season (16 – James Crole, Louis Lloyd).
Briton Ferry Llansawel are level on points with Flint Town United (11th), but the Reds have two games in hand to try to open a gap between themselves and the bottom two.
Remarkably, Briton Ferry Llansawel have won two of their last three games against The New Saints, including an excellent 3-0 win away at Oswestry on the opening weekend of the season.
Remaining fixtures:
Briton Ferry Llansawel: TNS (h), MET (a), CQ (a), PEN (a), BARR (h), HAV (a) ͏
The New Saints: BFL (a), BALA (h), CQ (a), CB (h)

Pen-y-bont (3rd) v Barry Town United (7th) | Tuesday – 19:45
Barry Town United have claimed their place in the final of the Nathaniel MG Cup for the first time in nine years after a comfortable 3-0 win away at Cambrian on Saturday.
But while Barry Town were busy competing in the cup, Cardiff Met rose above them into the top half, and so it’s going to be a close race between the two clubs to reach the Top Six this year.
Remaining fixtures:
Pen-y-bont: BARR (h), BFL (h), LLI (a), MET (h) ͏
Barry Town United: PEN (a), MET (h), BFL (a), CQ (a), LLI (h)
Barry Town United are on an impressive run of nine games without defeat in all competitions and have kept seven clean sheets during that period.
Pen-y-bont, on the other hand, have dropped to 3rd place after losing four of their last six league matches, conceding 21 goals during that run (3.5 goals per game).
But Pen-y-bont have not lost any of their last 13 league meetings with Barry Town United (W8, D5), and Noah Daley was the star for the Blues in the reverse fixture in August, scoring a hat-trick in his first league appearance for Pen-y-bont (BARR 2-3 Pen).
