PREVIEW – BARRY TOWN UNITED v CARDIFF MET
Tuesday, 10 December
Barry Town United (7th) v Cardiff Met (4th) | Tuesday – 19:45
All football matches in Wales were postponed on Saturday due to Storm Darragh, but the race for the Top Six reignites on Tuesday night when Barry Town United and Cardiff Met meet at Jenner Park.
Cardiff Met are aiming to secure a place in the top half for the third season on the trot, and three points for the students on Saturday afternoon would lift them to 31 points, which is the usual amount needed to reach the Top Six.
Barry Town United (25pts) are level on points with Caernarfon Town and Connah’s Quay in the middle of the table, but the Dragons have games in hand, and a win for them on Tuesday night would lift them to 5th place.
Barry Town United are enjoying a good spell having won five of their last seven league games, and only the top two (Pen-y-bont and TNS) have managed to beat Steve Jenkins’ side in the league since August.
Cardiff Met have not been at their best away from home recently, losing four of their last five league fixtures on the road, with the only win coming against bottom of the table side, Aberystwyth Town.
But the Archers will be confident of securing a positive result at Jenner Park as they have only lost one of their previous nine games against Barry Town United (W5, D3).
