The fight for survival takes centre stage this weekend as Flint Town United, Newtown and Aberystwyth Town all feature live on Sgorio with only one point separating the three clubs at the bottom of the table.

Friday, 18 December

Caernarfon Town v Newtown Friday – 19:45 (Facebook Live)

Three consecutive defeats have seen Newtown drop into the relegation zone, but Chris Hughes will be confident that his side can get out of trouble as the Robins prepare for an important run of fixtures against Caernarfon TownAberystwyth Town and Cardiff Met.

Caernarfon have reacted well to their recent heavy defeat at Pen-y-bont by winning their last three matches to climb back into the top half.

The Cofis have won four of their last five meetings with Newtown, and another win for the Canaries could see Huw Griffiths’ side shoot up to 4th place.

Connah’s Quay v Cardiff Met | Saturday – 14:30

The champions will be chomping at the bit to get back on the pitch following their fantastic 2-0 win against the Saints last Saturday, making it six wins on the bounce for Andy Morrison’s men.

Cardiff Met have the worst attacking record in the league (13 goals in 15 games), and it will be a tough test for the Archers against a strong Nomads side who have only conceded four goals in eight home games this season.

The students have never won a league game away at Connah’s Quay, although they did win on their last visit to the Deeside Stadium in last season’s Welsh Cup quarter finals.

Barry Town United v Cefn Druids Saturday – 14:30

Barry Town United won five of their opening six fixtures this season, but after winning only one in nine since then the Dragons have lost sight of the top three.

It’s been a significant week for Cefn Druids who have soared up from the bottom of the table into 9th position following two impressive victories against Haverfordwest County and Flint Town United.

The Dragons have won four of their last five meetings with the Druids, but it should be a close encounter at Jenner Park this weekend.

Flint Town United v Aberystwyth Town | Saturday – 16:30 (S4C)

Two of the bottom three go head-to-head live on Sgorio this Saturday and Neil Gibson will be eager to register his first win as Flint manager in front of the cameras.

Aberystwyth Town have lost their last five games and are in dangerous territory after winning only two of their 15 games this season.

But it was Aber who won the reverse fixture with local lads Jonathan Evans, Mathew Jones and Lee Jenkins all getting on the score sheet for the Black & Greens at Park Avenue back in September (Aber 3-1 Flint).

The New Saints v Pen-y-bont | Saturday – 14:30

The New Saints have won all four of their previous meetings with Pen-y-bont, and after hitting four past Newtown in midweek, Scott Ruscoe’s side will be feeling upbeat ahead of Saturday.

Pen-y-bont are sitting comfortably in 4th place and are strong contenders for a place in the Top Six after only losing to the top three so far this season (TNS, Connah’s Quay, Bala Town).

TNS have won all of their seven games at Park Hall this season and will be desperate not to drop points in the race for the title.
