Cardiff Met and Flint Town United’s perfect records came to an end on Saturday, and now we have two new leaders at the summit as Haverfordwest County and The New Saints are the only remaining unbeaten sides in the league.
Tuesday, 30 August
Airbus UK v Flint Town United | Tuesday – 19:45
Flint Town United have dropped down to 6th place following their first defeat of the season away at Pen-y-bont (Pen 2-1 Flint).
But the Silkmen should be favourites on Tuesday as Airbus UK are the only team still searching for their first point of the campaign after losing their opening three fixtures.
The two Flintshire clubs haven’t met since Flint’s 2-1 win in the Nathaniel MG Cup third round in 2019, but this will be the first time that the two teams will go head-to-head in the top-flight.
Connah’s Quay v Bala Town | Tuesday – 19:45
After a shaky start to the season both Connah’s Quay and Bala Town will be aiming to climb into the top half on Tuesday night.
The Nomads lost 2-1 against the champions on Friday night, while Bala Town claimed their first win of the season in a 3-0 victory against Newtown.
Connah’s Quay will take confidence from the fact that they’ve won their last two games against Bala Town, scoring eight goals in the process (Bala 0-4 CQ, Bala 1-4 CQ).
Cardiff Met v Pontypridd United | Tuesday – 19:45
Cardiff Met’s 100% record ended abruptly on Saturday as they were thrashed 5-1 by Caernarfon Town at the Oval.
But while the Archers had to endure a long journey back to the capital, there was a party at Pontypridd as they secured their first ever win in the JD Cymru Premier (Pont 2-1 Aber).
These two clubs will meet for the first time since December 2019 when it was a Will Evans strike that separated the sides in a Welsh Cup third round tie (Met 1-0 Pont).
Pen-y-bont v Haverfordwest County | Tuesday – 19:45 (Live online)
Pen-y-bont will be looking to continue their perfect home record after victories against Bala Town and Flint Town United at the SDM Glass Stadium.
Haverfordwest County have hopped to the top of the table following their comfortable 3-0 win against Airbus on Saturday, but the Bluebirds haven’t won any of their last eight meetings with Pen-y-bont (lost six, drawn two).
There’s just one point between these two teams who are eager to break into the top three this season.
Newtown v Caernarfon Town | Tuesday – 19:45
Caernarfon Town enjoyed a fantastic 5-1 win against Cardiff Met on Saturday as the Cofis netted five goals for the first time since December 2019 (5-0 v Airbus).
Newtown on the other hand have had a sluggish start to the season, picking up just one point in three games without scoring a single goal.
But Chris Hughes will take comfort knowing that his Robins side have won their last six meetings with the Canaries and haven’t conceded in their last five games against Caernarfon Town.
Aberystwyth Town v The New Saints | Tuesday – 20:00
After a well-fought opening weekend win against Airbus UK, Aberystwyth Town have now lost two on the bounce and have dropped down the table.
The New Saints are one of just two teams who remain unbeaten after three games, and since the champions have already faced strong opposition in Newtown, Pen-y-bont and Connah’s Quay, Craig Harrison will be satisfied with the Saints’ seven points so far.
The New Saints have only won one of their last four visits to Park Avenue (lost two, drawn one), but that victory was certainly a memorable one back in August 2019 (Aber 1-10 TNS).
All the midweek goals and highlights will be available on Sgorio’s social accounts.
