Less than a month into the new season and it seems that the top three have already broken clear, but Bala Town will be looking to close the gap on the front runners this Saturday as they host Aberystwyth live on S4C at 17:15.

Caernarfon v Cefn Druids | Friday – 19:45
Huw Griffiths will welcome his former club to the Oval on Friday and will expect nothing less than three points against the struggling Druids.

Bruno Lopes has had a tough start to life as Cefn Druids manager after picking up only one point from their opening six fixtures.

Caernarfon haven’t lost at home to the Ancients since 2015 and the Cofis enjoyed a comfortable 4-0 victory in the last meeting between the sides in the Welsh Cup quarter final back in February.

Cardiff Met v Connah’s Quay | Saturday – 14:30
Champions Connah’s Quay Nomads are leading the way after five consecutive victories in the JD Cymru Premier.

Cardiff Met have felt the absence of three influential attackers who have left the club over the last year (Adam Roscrow, Will Evans, Jordan Lam) as the Archers have the worst scoring record in the league (4 goals in 7 games).

After beating Aberystwyth on the opening weekend the students have gone six games without a win and are fluttering above the relegation zone.

Cardiff Met have never won a league match against Connah’s Quay, but they did beat the Nomads in their previous meeting which was in last season’s Welsh Cup quarter final.

Pen-y-bont v The New Saints | Saturday – 14:30
The New Saints are on a mission to regain the league title, and after winning their opening five fixtures without conceding a goal, they are certainly on the right track.

But Pen-y-bont are also in fine form and have climbed up to 4th position after winning three consecutive top flight games for the first time in their history.

Rhys Griffiths netted twice in Pen-y-bont’s win at Haverfordwest on Wednesday, and the 40 year old player-manager will be hoping to add to his impressive total of 271 league goals before the end of the season.

Newtown v Barry Town | Saturday – 14:30
Newtown have had a miserable start to the season, winning only one of their opening seven matches.

Barry on the other hand are in fine form after winning five consecutive league games for the first time since March 2018.

But the Robins have won their last two games against the Dragons – winning 0-1 twice within a week at Jenner Park last year (league and cup).

Flint Town v Haverfordwest | Saturday – 14:30
The Cymru Premier new-comers go head to head at Cae-Y-Castell on Saturday in the first league meeting between Flint Town and Haverfordwest since 1998, and both clubs will be looking to bounce back following heavy defeats in their last outings (TNS 10-0 Flint, Hav 0-4 Pen).

The Silkmen have lost their last three matches, but those matches were against teams from last season’s Top Six, so Niall McGuinness will be see this game as an opportunity to get back to winning ways.

Haverfordwest haven’t finished higher than 12th place in the top flight since finishing 7th in 2008/09 when there were 18 teams in the league.

Bala Town v Aberystwyth | Saturday – 17:15 (S4C)
Bala find themselves with three games in hand following postponements, and after a shock defeat to Haverfordwest last weekend, Colin Caton’s side will be keen to prove a point on Saturday.

The Lakesiders won both fixtures against Aberystwyth last season without conceding a single goal.

But Aberystwyth will be full of confidence after a fantastic four-nil win at Cefn Druids on Tuesday night.

Highlights will be on Sgorio this Monday at 5:25.
