Caernarfon Town (5th) v The New Saints (1st) | Tuesday – 19:45

Following their comfortable 4-0 victory over Pen-y-bont on Saturday, The New Saints have moved six points clear at the top of the table, and winning their game in hand against Caernarfon Town on Tuesday night would put Craig Harrison’s team in an extremely strong position to win the championship for the fourth successive season.

Since being knocked out of Europe in December, The New Saints have won seven league matches in a row with forward Aradime Oteh netting in their last four games.

Oteh is now joint top scorer in the league with 11 goals, level with Caernarfon’s Louis Lloyd, who has scored in his last three games against The New Saints.

Caernarfon Town lost 5-2 at home against the Saints on Boxing Day, but since then the Cofis have gone on a promising run of four games without defeat (W3, D1).

But it will be a challenge for Caernarfon who have lost their striker, Zack Clarke who has signed for The New Saints after scoring eight and creating three goals for the Canaries during the first phase of the season.

The Cofis will not hold a grudge against the Oswestry giants as they have had three of their players on loan for the rest of the season: Blaine Hudson, Josh Lock and Jake Canavan, but all three will not be available to play against their parent-club on Tuesday.

The New Saints are top of the table with eight games left to play, but the Oswestry outfit have already lost five league games this season, which is the most they have lost since the 2019/20 season when they finished as runners-up behind Connah’s Quay.

Caernarfon Town were one of the clubs to beat TNS in the first phase, winning 2-1 at Park Hall in October, but the champions hit back on Boxing Day winning 5-2 at the Oval with Jack Bodenham and Ben Clark both grabbing a brace apiece for the Saints.

October 2019 was the last time the Canaries won at home against the Saints, and since then the champions have won eight games in a row at the Oval.
