Colwyn Bay (11th) v Pen-y-bont (7th) | Saturday – 14:30

In the only league game of the weekend, Colwyn Bay will host Pen-y-bont in a match that has been rearranged after the original fixture was postponed on 21 October due to heavy rain.

Despite their 3-0 away win in Pontypridd last Saturday afternoon, Colwyn Bay are still level on points with Aberystwyth at the bottom of the table.

The Seagulls had gone on a run of seven league games without a win before beating Pontypridd comfortably, and another three points this weekend would lift Steve Evans’ side from the relegation zone.

As the first half of the season comes to an end, Pen-y-bont would not have expected to be in the bottom half of the table, but three points for them on Saturday would lift them into the Top Six with six games to go until the split.

Pen-y-bont’s 38-year-old forward Chris Venables has scored 11 goals in 13 league appearances since joining his new club, and another goal would put him level with Aaron Williams (Newtown) at the top of the league’s scorers chart.

Venables has scored a league goal against all of the current JD Cymru Premier clubs during his career, except for Colwyn Bay, and he and Rhys Griffiths will want redemption against the Seagulls who came away with a 1-0 away win in Bryntirion back in September through Alex Downes’ late header.

League form:

Highlights of the game will be available on Sgorio’s social websites.
