Caernarfon Town continue to be the early pace-setters in the JD Cymru Premier with the Cofis breaking clear at the top of the league after the Bank Holiday weekend.
And after the first four rounds of matches, reigning champions The New Saints are sitting in 4th place following their draw at Colwyn Bay on Monday afternoon.
Llanelli Town will be determined to get off the mark this weekend and earn their first points since their promotion when the Reds welcome Bala Town to Stebonheath Park on Saturday.
This will be the last season under the current 12-team format, before the number of league members increases to 16 clubs for the 2026/27 season. That means that six clubs will be promoted to the JD Cymru Premier at the end of this season, with the bottom two dropping down into the second tier. Four European spots will be up for grabs this year, before that amount drops back down to three for the following year.

Colwyn Bay (10th) v Briton Ferry Llansawel (3rd) | Saturday – 14:30
Colwyn Bay are one of four clubs still waiting for their first win in the league this season, but that certainly doesn’t tell the whole story for the Seagulls.
Michael Wilde’s men have only lost one of their four opening fixtures, picking up valuable points from tough tests against Connah’s Quay, Barry Town United and The New Saints.
Briton Ferry Llansawel have had a solid start to the season, but it was a disappointing defeat at Old Road on Monday afternoon with Andy Dyer’s side conceding in the final seconds to lose 1-0 against Haverfordwest County.
An exciting and effective partnership is developing in the Ferry frontline with young Ruben Davies currently joint top scorer in the league (4 goals), and Thomas Walters not far behind with three goals and one assist.
Colwyn Bay have not scored more than one goal in their last 14 games in the top tier since January 2024 (CB 2-3 Pontypridd), but the Seagulls will look to end that run in their first ever contest against Briton Ferry Llansawel.

Llanelli Town (12th) v Bala Town (8th) | Saturday – 14:30
After securing promotion over the summer, Llanelli Town have not had the ideal return to the JD Cymru Premier, losing all four games so far.
To add salt to the wound, their top scorer from last season, Liam Eason is once again running riot in the JD Cymru South with six league goals since joining Cambrian United over the summer, favouring to stay in the second tier rather than having a go at the top-flight.
This will be Bala Town’s first trip to Stebonheath Park since December 2018 when they won 7-1 with forward Steven Tames netting four goals for the Lakesiders.
But this season, Bala Town have the lowest scoring record in the league, having scored only twice in their opening three games (0.67 goals per game).

Pen-y-bont (2nd) v Connah’s Quay (9th) | Saturday – 14:30
Pen-y-bont have climbed to 2nd place after a productive Bank Holiday weekend where the Blues defeated both Barry Town United and Llanelli Town.
Rhys Griffiths’ team have won three of their opening four fixtures with the only loss coming against The New Saints – a record any manager in the league would accept.
The New Saints are also the only club to have defeated Connah’s Quay so far as the Nomads mounted a second-half comeback to win 3-2 in the Flintshire derby on Monday afternoon.
After going for a period of seven games without beating Connah’s Quay, Pen-y-bont managed to win their two contests against the Nomads last season.

Barry Town United (5th) v The New Saints (4th) | Saturday – 14:30
It was a weekend of late and dramatic goals for Barry Town United, starting with the loss against Pen-y-bont on Friday night where Noah Daley completed his hat-trick after 94 minutes at Jenner Park (Barr 2-3 Pen), but it was the Dragons who celebrated late on Monday as Robbie Willmott netted after 92 minutes to grab a point at Cardiff Met (Met 1-1 Barr).
And it was another frustrating afternoon for Craig Harrison on Monday with his professional squad having to settle for a point against newly-promoted Colwyn Bay after former TNS midfielder Aeron Edwards scored the crucial goal for the Seagulls (CB 1-1 TNS).
Jordan Williams has been the brightest of the Saints’ stars at the start of this season, scoring three times in the last two games to bring his Cymru Premier tally to 50 goals in just 92 appearances.
The New Saints have not lost in 13 meetings with Barry Town United (W11, D2), and the Dragons have not won at home against the Oswestry outfit for almost a quarter of a century.

Flint Town United (11th) v Cardiff Met (6th) | Saturday – 14:30
At the Essity Stadium, Flint Town United and Cardiff Met will both be battling for their first league win of the season.
Flint Town United have taken the lead in their last two games, but have crumbled on both occasions, finishing the ties empty-handed (FTU 2-5 Cfon, CQ 3-2 FTU).
Cardiff Met may not have won yet, but the Archers and Caernarfon Town are the only two teams that are yet to lose as Ryan Jenkins’ students have drawn four games in a row at the start of the season.
Cardiff Met are on a run of five games without defeat against Flint Town United, and the capital contingent won both matches between the clubs during the last campaign.

The Canaries are flying at the top of the league after an impressive run of three successive victories where they’ve scored 13 goals.

Haverfordwest County are on a fantastic eight-game unbeaten run against Caernarfon Town with the Bluebirds defeating the Cofis 3-1 in the last meeting between the clubs in last season’s European play-off final.
