Europa Conference: The New Saints 4-2 Plzeň
A Declan McManus hat-trick helps the Saints to victory in the first leg of the Europa Conference League third qualifying round.
The New Saints beat Plzeň 4-2 at Cardiff City Stadium on Thursday 5 August.
Declan McManus scored twice from the penalty spot before securing his hat-trick and a two goal advantage for TNS ahead of the second leg in the Czech Republic next week.
Blaine Hudson opened the scoring after 19 minutes with a powerful header before the Scot, McManus scored from the spot after 30 minutes of play to secure a 2-0 advantage for TNS at the break.
The Saints were 4-0 ahead with 89 minutes played, but Beauguel and Ba Loua scored in extra time for the visitors.
The TNS manager, Anthony Limbrick was disappointed to concede twice so late – but praised his side for defeating a side who beat Roma 2-1 in the Champions League in 2018.
