All of this weekend’s fixtures will be played on Friday night, with five of the six newly promoted clubs hosting their first home matches of the season.

Airbus UK Broughton v Cardiff Met | Friday – 19:45
Airbus UK made the perfect start to their campaign on Saturday with a 1-0 away victory at Haverfordwest, courtesy of a late goal from Joshua Stevenson.
It was Airbus’ first top-flight win since March 2020 (Carmarthen 1-3 Airbus), and manager Mark Allen was particularly pleased to see his side keep a clean sheet in their first match back in the Cymru Premier.
Cardiff Met enjoyed an even better opening weekend, soaring to the top of the table after thrashing Holywell Town 6-1 at Cyncoed Campus.
Jasper Payne was the star of the show, scoring a hat-trick and setting up two more goals as Cardiff Met recorded their biggest league victory since April 2022 (Met 5-0 Cefn).
Cardiff Met lost 1-0 at the Airfield in Broughton in their first-ever Cymru Premier fixture back in August 2016, but since then the Archers have gone unbeaten in their last six meetings with Airbus UK (won 4, drawn 2).
Cambrian United v Briton Ferry Llansawel | Friday – 19:45
For the first time in 30 years, a Cymru Premier match will be played in the Rhondda on Friday night.
Cambrian United finished second in the 2025/26 Cymru South, ensuring the Rhondda has top-flight representation for the first time since Ton Pentre in 1996/97.
In their first-ever top-flight fixture, Cambrian battled well against Barry Town United before eventually losing late on at Jenner Park (Barry 2-1 Cambrian).
Llansawel finished eighth last season, two places higher than the previous campaign, and Andy Dyer’s side will be hoping to continue that upward progress this year.
The Reds opened the new season with a 2-1 victory over Ammanford and will now look to defeat another newly promoted southern club this weekend.
Cambrian have won each of their last four meetings with Briton Ferry, including a 1-0 victory in last season’s Nathaniel MG Cup quarter-final.
Caernarfon Town v Pen-y-bont | Friday – 19:45 (Live online)
Both Caernarfon Town and Pen-y-bont will be pleased with their opening weekend results.
Caernarfon came from behind to win 2-1 away at Connah’s Quay, while Pen-y-bont frustrated reigning champions The New Saints in a goalless draw.
However, with just one win (in 90 minutes) from their last 16 competitive matches, Pen-y-bont will be determined to claim all three points at The Oval.
Pen-y-bont strengthened their squad this week by signing former Nottingham Forest and Coventry City striker Tyler Walker.
The Cofis are unbeaten and have not conceded in their last three meetings with Pen-y-bont (won 2, drawn 1).
Ammanford v Colwyn Bay | Friday – 19:45
Ammanford secured their place in the Cymru Premier for the first time in their history after finishing third in the 2025/26 Cymru South.
Wyn Thomas’ side produced an encouraging display against Llansawel on the opening weekend but ultimately suffered a 2-1 defeat.
Colwyn Bay enjoyed an impressive start to the season with a comfortable 2-0 home win over Trefelin, with Jordan Davies scoring the league’s first goal of the season after just 73 seconds at Llanelian Road.
Adam Davies also found the net on his debut for the Seagulls, while new goalkeeper Mark Halstead kept a clean sheet.
Both managers boast extensive Cymru Premier experience, with Wyn Thomas and Michael Wilde having made more than 1,000 league appearances between them, but this will be the first-ever meeting between Ammanford and Colwyn Bay.
Trefelin v Llandudno | Friday – 19:45
Trefelin reached the Cymru Premier for the first time in their history after winning the 2025/26 Cymru South title under manager Andy Hill.
However, it was a difficult start to life in the top flight as they lost 2-0 away at Colwyn Bay, and the Port Talbot side will be hoping for a better performance at home against another Conwy County club.
After seven seasons in the second tier, Llandudno return to the Cymru Premier following their 2025/26 Cymru North title success under young manager Jordan Hadaway.
At just 25 years old, Hadaway is one of the youngest managers ever to take charge in the Cymru Premier, but it was the veterans who rescued Llandudno on the opening weekend as Marc Williams (37) and Mark Cadwallader (38) came off the bench to seal a 3-2 victory over Flint Town United.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the clubs as the reigning Cymru South and Cymru North champions face off at Ynys Park.
Holywell Town v Connah’s Quay Nomads | Friday – 19:45
The first local derby of the season takes place in Flintshire on Friday night.
After finishing third in the 2025/26 Cymru North, Holywell Town return to the top flight for the first time in 28 years.
However, it was a baptism of fire for John Haseldin’s side as they were thrashed 6-1 by Cardiff Met in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
Connah’s Quay finished runners-up in 2025/26 but suffered defeat on the opening weekend, losing 2-1 at home to Caernarfon Town.
It has been a summer of major change at Connah’s Quay, with 15 players departing as John Disney continues to reshape his squad.
This will be the clubs’ first competitive meeting since Connah’s Quay edged Holywell Town 1-0 in the third round of the Nathaniel MG Cup in September 2022, while Holywell have not beaten the Nomads for 31 years.
Flint Town United v Barry Town United | Friday – 19:45
Flint Town United finished 10th last season, narrowly avoiding relegation, and although the Silkmen reached the Welsh Cup final for the first time in 72 years, it proved a disappointing campaign after their 3-0 defeat to Caernarfon Town in the final.
The new season has not begun much better for Lee Fowler’s side, who suffered a 3-2 away defeat to newcomers Llandudno.
Barry Town United enjoyed an outstanding campaign, finishing in their highest league position for seven years (3rd) and winning the League Cup for the first time in 25 years.
However, it has been a summer of significant change for the Dragons, who have lost four of their key players during the transfer window.
Strikers Ieuan Owen and Ollie Hulbert have departed, along with last season’s main creator Robbie Willmott and dependable defender Ben Margetson.
Despite those changes, Barry still claimed all three points against Cambrian on the opening weekend, with captain Callum Sainty scoring and inspiring his side to a 2-1 victory at Jenner Park.
The teams met twice during the first phase of last season, with both matches ending goalless.
The New Saints v Haverfordwest County | Friday – 19:45
Having won the JD Cymru Premier title for the 18th time in their history, and for a fifth consecutive season, The New Saints are once again clear favourites to lift the trophy this year.
However, the champions were frustrated by Pen-y-bont on the opening weekend as a drab encounter finished goalless at the Dragonbet Stadium.
TNS striker Jordan Williams enjoyed a remarkable season, completing a hat-trick of individual awards by winning Player of the Season, Goal of the Season and the Golden Boot, with five of his 26 league goals coming against Haverfordwest County.
It was a mixed campaign for Haverfordwest last season, as the club finished seventh after placing third and qualifying for Europe the year before.
The biggest surprise of the opening weekend came at Bridge Meadow, where Haverfordwest suffered a shock 1-0 home defeat to Airbus UK.
The New Saints have won their last 12 meetings with Haverfordwest, while the Bluebirds have won just once in the last 32 encounters between the sides (drawn 4, lost 27).
