The semi-finals of the Nathaniel MG Cup will take the spotlight on Saturday afternoon, but before then, four league fixtures will be held on Friday night.
There are only a handful of matches left to play before the split in the table in January, and so far only The New Saints have sealed their place in the top half with the champions 12 points clear at the top of the league after 18 games.
31 points is the usual amount needed to reach the Top Six, and Pen-y-bont and Connah’s Quay have already passed that target, while Caernarfon Town and Colwyn Bay aren’t too far behind.
Cardiff Met (7th) and Bala Town (8th) will be in action on Friday and will look to keep the pressure on Barry Town United (6th) in the race to reach the Top Six as only three points separate the three teams in mid-table.
And in the battle to avoid relegation, the bottom three clubs face tough games away from home on Friday evening.

Friday, 5 December
Caernarfon Town (4th) v Flint Town United (10th) | Friday – 19:45
Caernarfon Town have dropped to 4th place after a disappointing run of three league games without a win, including draws against the bottom two, Llanelli Town and Haverfordwest County.
However, a win for the Canaries on Friday would lift them to second place with 32 points, which is likely to be enough to claim a place in the Top Six.
Fixtures before the split:
Caernarfon Town: FTU (h), CB (h), BALA (a), CQ (h) ͏
Flint Town United: CFON (a), HAV (h), CQ (h), CB (a), BALA (h)
Flint Town United have only won two of their last 12 league matches (vs Llanelli & Briton Ferry), and Lee Fowler’s men have only won once away from home in the league this season (vs Llanelli).
It was a memorable match between the teams in the reverse fixture in August where Caernarfon won 5-2 at Cae y Castell with a number of glorious goals being scored by either side.
Flint Town United have only won one of their 10 previous meetings with Caernarfon Town, and four years have passed since the Silkmen last won away from home against the Cofis when Michael Wilde scored twice at the Oval in October 2021 (Cfon 2-3 FTU).

Flint Town United: ❌❌➖❌➖
Connah’s Quay (3rd) v Colwyn Bay (5th) | Friday – 19:45
Connah’s Quay have reached the 31-point mark, which historically has been enough to reach the Top Six, and John Disney’s team have done so with six games left to play before the split.
The Nomads have gone on a magnificent run of nine league games without defeat, climbing into the top three in the table with two games in hand.
It was a remarkable 5-4 victory for Colwyn Bay against Pen-y-bont on Saturday afternoon as Jordan Davies hit his first hat-trick in the JD Cymru Premier.
It was the highest scoring match in the JD Cymru Premier since Connah’s Quay won 7-2 against Flint Town United in December 2024.
Colwyn Bay have won seven of their last 10 matches in all competitions and are aiming to be the first club to claim a place in the Top Six in their first season after securing promotion since Caernarfon did so in the 2018/19 season.
Fixtures before the split:
Connah’s Quay: CB (h), BFL (h), FTU (a), TNS (h), BARR (h) CFON (a) ͏
Colwyn Bay: CQ (a), CFON (a), FTU (h), TNS (a)
Connah’s Quay haven’t lost any of their last four contests against Colwyn Bay, and it ended 1-1 in the reverse fixture at Llanelian Road on the opening weekend of the season.
League form:
Connah’s Quay: ✅➖✅✅✅
Colwyn Bay: ͏✅❌✅❌✅
Cardiff Met (7th) v Llanelli Town (12th) | Friday – 19:45
After losing just one of their last 10 games in all competitions, Cardiff Met are hoping to reach the Top Six for the fourth successive season.
Fixtures before the split:
Cardiff Met: LLI (h), BFL (h), BARR (a), HAV (h), PEN (a) ͏
Llanelli Town: MET (a), HAV (a), PEN (h), BARR (a)
But the Archers are currently sitting in the bottom half, mainly due to their slow start as they failed to win any of their opening nine league matches.
Only one point separated Cardiff Met and Llanelli Town after the opening nine matches, but Ryan Jenkins’ squad have managed to turn the corner, while the Reds continue to struggle at the bottom of the table.
Llanelli Town have only picked up one point from their last eight league games, and after scoring only 10 goals in 18 fixtures, things don’t bode well for Lee John’s team.
Cardiff Met have won their last five meetings with Llanelli Town, including a 3-1 win at Stebonheath Park earlier this season.
League form:
Cardiff Met: ͏➖✅❌✅➖
Llanelli Town: ❌❌❌➖❌
Bala Town (8th) v Haverfordwest County (11th) | Friday – 19:45 (Live online)
Bala Town have reached the Top Six in each of the last 11 seasons, but the Lakesiders are in danger of missing out this year for the first time since the 2013/14 campaign.
Scoring goals has been Bala Town’s main issue, as only Llanelli Town (0.6 goals per game) have netted fewer than Steve Fisher’s side (0.8 goals per game).
Fixtures before the split:
Bala Town: HAV (h), TNS (a), CFON (h), FTU (a) ͏
Haverfordwest County: BALA (a), FTU (a), LLI (h), MET (a), BFL (h)
After claiming a place in Europe last season, Haverfordwest County are in a real fight to avoid relegation this year with only one point separating the Bluebirds, Briton Ferry Llansawel and Flint Town United between 9th and 11th place.
Haverfordwest County have only won one of their 16 away games in all competitions in 2025 (0-1 vs Briton Ferry), and after a six-year spell in the JD Cymru Premier, Tony Pennock’s team need to raise the standard quickly or face the inevitable.
Haverfordwest County are however unbeaten in their previous five matches against Bala Town, keeping a clean sheet in four of those five fixtures (W3, D2).
League form:
Bala Town: ➖✅❌❌➖
Haverfordwest County: ➖❌➖✅❌
The highlights of the games will be available on Sgorio’s social websites and the best of the weekend’s action on S4C on Monday night.
